Prolapse and Pessaries

Pelvic organ prolapse occurs when pelvic structures—such as the bladder, uterus or bowel—shift downward into the vaginal space due to weakened support. This may result from childbirth, menopause, chronic straining, or heavy lifting.
Women often describe a feeling of heaviness, pressure, or a bulge in the vagina. Other symptoms can include bladder or bowel changes, discomfort during intimacy, or a dragging sensation that worsens throughout the day.
